6/12 – Jeff Vorick’s “Severe Weather Threat” Monday Evening Forecast

There is the potential for strong thunderstorms this evening. Our Southern Six Counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm WATCH until 8 PM CDT. Thunderstorms could have the capability of producing wind gusts in excess of 60 MPH along with small hail. Activity will clear the area this evening.

A very hot and humid pattern will be in place this week. Strong high pressure will pump in southerly winds which will keep a humid flow. Temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s will feel like temperatures well into the 100s. Take all necessary precautions including hydration, sunscreen, limiting time outdoors, and not walking the dog in the heat of the day.

The storm track will sag southward and bring our next appreciable rain chances for Thursday and possibly Friday. There does not look to be any relief to the heat in sight.
