Man charged in June 2 shooting arrested in Gulfport

Gulfport Police have arrested a man charged with shooting someone earlier this month.

Police say 40-year-old Elvenis Davis was arrested Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault. He was taken to Harrison County jail. His bond is set at $250,000.

On June 2, officers responded to a shooting on 39th Avenue about 9:48 p.m. They found a victim there suffering from a gunshot wound.

Detectives were able to identify Davis as the suspect who shot the victim and fled the scene. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
