Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum hosts Sea and Sail Adventure Camp

The Schooner Pier was filled with kids dropping lines and learning more about their surroundings.

Each year, the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum puts on the Sea N Sail Adventure Camp for children ages six through 12-years-old.

The day camp is designed to bring about a greater awareness of our original history and maritime heritage through a variety of fun and educational activities.

The week-long activities include sailing, boat building, cast net throwing, and fishing. Executive Director Robin Krohn-David said, “This is actually our history and heritage, and that’s what the museum teaches. They will tour the museum, they will do a scavenger hunt in the museum, and with all these various activities…they’re fun, but yet they’re learning some of our history and heritage which we feel like everyone needs to continuate, continue, and perpetuate our culture.”

This is week one of six total weeks and spots are available in each for $275 per week. If you would like to register your child for the camp visit maritimemuseum.org.
