14 Dead, at Least 14 Wounded in California Shooting
There was a mass shooting in California. Late this morning, authorities were called to a social services facility in San Bernardino, about 60 miles east of L.A.
So far, 14 people are confirmed dead and at least 14 are wounded. Meanwhile, police are actively searching for up to three shooters involved in the attack. NBC affiliate KNBC reports about 670 people work in the buildings.
Outside the facility, people used their phones to keep in touch with loved ones inside. Mario Gradia has family in the building. He said, “Just said there was a shooting. She was scared. She is hiding in the closet with two other people.” Olivia Navarro’s daughter hid inside the building. She said, “She turned off the lights and tried to block the door and lock it so that they couldn’t get in if the shooters were around that area.”
Authorities have not ruled out terrorism as a possible motive as the manhunt continues.
