Members celebrate Easter at Lighthouse Baptist Church
Many other churches held services and community events yesterday in recognition of Easter Sunday.
Lighthouse Baptist Church in Biloxi held its Easter Resurrection Celebration after Sunday’s service. 165 kids were in attendance, eager to go hunting for Easter eggs, play games, and go home with gifts and some stuffed animals.
The church recently reopened after being closed since 1988 and Lighthouse Baptist Church leaders say their congregation continues to grow. Pastor’s Wife Terre Farwell said, “These families brought families. I had one of our brand-new ladies that just joined today. She had nine family members here that have never been in our church. We had visitors from Keesler. We had visitors from all over. It’s just been exciting.”
Pastor Randy Farwell said, “The Lord is what makes Easter what it is. Without him, you don’t really have anything and just the excitement of knowing that we serve a risen savior. That’s what’s great to me. That’s what makes Christianity what it is.”
