Summerfield Senior Living of Gulfport hosts inaugural Easter Eggstravaganza
It was a day for Easter eggs and sweets for a good cause at one local senior living facility.
Summerfield Senior Living of Gulfport held its inaugural Bake Sale and Egg hunt Easter Eggstravaganza today.
Residents spent the week baking cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and other delicacies.
Close to $1,000 was raised during the event. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Summerfield’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s team.
Sandy Fairley, the executive director of Summerfield, says this is one of many opportunities for them to help end Alzheimer’s. “We’re raising money because the Alzheimer’s Association is looking for, they’re trying to find a cure for Alzheimer’s and they actually have a medication that’s been FDA approved and the monies that has been raised is what helps with that.”
Summerfield is excited to turn their Easter Eggstravaganza into an annual event. The 2023 Walk to End Alzheimer’s takes place October 21st.
