City of Gautier puts up new Easter decorations

The City of Gautier has been in the Easter spirit with new Easter decorations. This is the first time the city has decorated for the holiday in 15 years.

Mayor Casey Vaughan tells News 25 that  his goal is to encourage businesses and residents to beautify their properties to attract economic development and be welcoming to visitors.

The city use to be decorated for holidays throughout the year, but that slowly faded away.

Gautier Community Pride partnered with the city to decorate the three entrances in the city with Peep bunnies and colorful Easter eggs.

The nonprofit organization is offering a $500 beautification grant to help other Gautier businesses when it comes to décor or beautification improvements. “To get text messages saying wow, the city entrance looks nice or the decorations are great. They are inviting. The positive energy that those decorations give people and just make you feel enthusiastic. Get ready for the reason for the season.”

For more information on the grant and to find the form, go to Gautier Community Pride’s Facebook page. The deadline to send in the form is April 11th.
