‘Scuba’ Steve Johnson shares testimony of surviving cancer
In honor of it being the end of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a Coast favorite shares his story!
Steve Johnson, also known as Scuba Steve, was diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer in 2015 and was told he had six months to live.
After preparing for his life to end and closing down his store, his doctor told him that she was going to save him and he saw a glimpse of hope.
Throughout all the many trials and treatments later, Johnson is now six years cancer free!
Because of his experience, he’s a strong advocate for people to get checked if they feel that something is wrong. “You can catch it so early and bypass all this mess that I went through. It was tough, beyond tough, but it was late. So, if they caught it early, we don’t have that problem. This whole thing has been for me to help people and to inform people and save lives and be a crutch, just be there for someone that needs to talk.”
Johnson is committed to using his story and his business to inspire others to get through hard times.
