Biloxi Fire Department adds three new fire trucks

The Biloxi Fire Department added three new fire trucks to their station.

The new trucks were manufactured in Wisconsin and driven to Alabama to their service center.

Since the service center was short staffed to deliver, the department took it upon themselves to get a group of firefighters to bring them to the Coast.

The lifespan on some of the department’s trucks was coming up on their 20 year mark and will be replaced by the new trucks, which will cover Woolmarket and North Biloxi area.

One of the new trucks, engine 7, is dedicated to Biloxi High School. It will be housed at the station, but will be used for all the football games and EMT services.

Instead of putting the original department’s badge on the truck, it has an arrowhead for the Biloxi High Indians. Fire Chief Nick Geiser said, “It’s a little different build, not much in the respect of fighting fire. They all fight fires. A little different things that we did for the trucks that these are replacing. So, we’re excited to see how it works for us.”

After the trucks are serviced, the department plans to invite the public to come view them.
