Threats Made at Stone County High

A Stone County High School student threatening to shoot a gun on campus has parents and fellow students on high alert.
The student who made the threat was not at school today but the situation was reported to the administration. The Stone County Sheriff’s Department, along with student resource officers, was present around campus as a precaution. Many parents have expressed safety concerns for their children but the administration assures them the students are safe and they are going through the necessary procedures to keep it that way.
Jason Smith’s son attends Stone High. He said, “You always are surprised that there’s something that could happen at your child’s school, where your child is and where his friends are at. That always is surprising. On the other side, you have people and you hear in the news and all these different things are happening, so yes in a way it’s very surprising. Sadly in our day in time, you hear about it all the time.”
School doors were open today despite the threats. Administration did not comment on the possible consequences the student who made the threats may face.
