Jackson County Accident

A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after crashing his mother’s SUV early this morning.
Jackson County deputies responded to a call about an explosion on Jim Ramsey Road in Vancleave around 1:20 a.m. The SUV had crashed into a nearby tree and caught fire. The impact of the collision ejected both the teenage driver and the seat he was strapped into.
The teenager reportedly took the vehicle in the middle of the night without permission.
Residents of Jim Ramsey Road tell News 25, drivers in the area tend to make risky and dangerous decisions. Resident Jeff Welty said, “People will take chances, passing on curves, double lines. Not yielding. Pulling out too quick. While they turn, other cars approaching too fast and not giving them a chance to turn. Sometimes, it’s unfortunate." 
The teen was life flighted to USA Medical Center in Mobile.
