Capital Murder Plea in 2013 Shooting
The fourth and final defendant associated with the death of Joshua Cuellar pled guilty today.
Nineteen-year-old Sellers Johnson of Gulfport pled guilty this afternoon to capital murder for the 2013 murder. Johnson was scheduled to begin trial this week but changed his mind and chose to enter a guilty plea.
Johnson was 17-years-old at the time of the crime and faces a sentence of up to life in prison. A Supreme Court ruling prohibits the death penalty for defendants who are under the age of 18 at the time of the crime.
