Krewes preparing for Mardi Gras Day
Other krewes around the Coast are still preparing for their big day!
The Gulf Coast Carnival Association is gearing up for Mardi Gras Day! Over the weekend, one million beads were dropped off at their float den.
Now it’s crunch time as the krewe ensures each float is stocked.
Several of GCCA’s floats have been remodeled with help from the well-known float building Cantrell family.
This year, there will be 110 floats parading through Biloxi. David Harris with the Gulf Coast Carnival Association said, “Everybody gets excited because the throws are on there.”
Keith Wade with the Gulf Coast Carnival Association said, “The dukes are here. The king is here. Everybody is here undoing their beads and getting the floats ready. We’re ready to do it!”
Organizers will tell you their floats are stocked. All they have to worry about now is what to expect from the weather.
