Bay St. Louis police investigating woman’s death as homicide

Bay St. Louis Police are investigating a woman’s death as a homicide, Chief Gary Ponthieux said in a press release Monday.

About 7:45 a.m., a report came in of a dead woman found on the 500 block of Washington Street.

The victim, identified as Misty Cato, 37, of Bay St. Louis, died of a fatal gunshot wound, according to a press release. Her death is being treated as a homicide.

The investigation is ongoing.
