Boogies Chill and Grill warming up for football

It’s the final countdown as the Houston Texans get ready to take on Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs tonight in the first NFL game of the season.

These two teams aren’t the only ones ready for game night.

It’s the final countdown until the 2020 NFL season officially starts Thursday night and Boogies Chill and Grill in Biloxi has been warming up for the big kickoff. Boogies Grill and Chill Owner Vernon Wilson said, “We’ve been buttoning up everything, getting ready for tonight. We’re expecting a big crowd. We have quite a few local customers who will be doing their fantasy football draft here and staying to watch the game. We play all the sports that are on at the time. We also carry the NFL package, so we show every NFL game. Everybody’s ready for live sports. We’ve been watching a lot of reruns for the past several months. I think the buzz is really good for tonight.”

The Biloxi bar and grill is no rookie when it comes to game time. “We opened up a little over two and a half years ago. This will be our third season of football. We’re super excited about it. We had a big turnout last year, and expect even more this year. The way the place is set up, there’s not a bad seat in the house for the big flat screen TVs we have in here. The menu is absolutely superb.”

For years, Saints fans have held their faith in their team, but at Boogies there is one sure bet and that is when the Saints score. “Every time the Saints score, whether it’s a field goal, touchdown, safety, we give away free shots to every customer in here. Everyone loves that.  It’s a small shot, but nonetheless it boosts the excitement. We also do raffles all throughout the day. During the Saints game, it’s a Super Dome like experience. We have an emcee and deejay between commercials, half-time events, giveaways. It’s super exciting.”

Regardless of who wins the game, customers here agree game day at Boogies is a sure bet.
