WXXV Play of the Day: Big honor for D’Iberville’s Dwight Williams

The WXXV Play of the Day is a special honor going to D’Iberville Quarterback Dwight Williams.

Today, the senior found out he would be the recipient of the program’s number 18 patch, worn each year by the one player that works the hardest and shows many attributes of being a leader.

The patch is in honor of the late Latrell ‘Fred’ Dunbar, who was a junior running back for the Warriors when he passed away during a game in 2011.

Williams was handpicked by his coaches and tells News 25 “I never thought it would be me. It’s an honor to wear his number 18 patch on my 8 uniform. It means more than an award or plaque. It represents something meaningful.”
