Boating accident in Biloxi Back Bay kills man and woman

A boating accident Friday night on the Back Bay of Biloxi claimed the lives of two people.

Emergency services, including the Biloxi police and fire departments, arrived on scene around 9:30 p.m.

Sixty-year-old Thomas ‘Tommy’ Mallett of Biloxi and 60-year-old Nadine Sekul of Ocean Springs died after a larger boat collided with theirs.

Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer says Mallet died from blunt force trauma. Sekul, also injured in the collision, drowned. Her body was recovered around 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

The DMR Marine Patrol Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the accident.
