Saints announce no fans at first game

Upon Tom Brady’s departure for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the offseason, the New Orleans Saints were supposed to be the team that had the distinct pleasure of welcoming the six-time Super Bowl winning quarterback to the NFC South.

However, that first impression will be one without fans due to the COVID-19 infections throughout the region.

According to a release sent out by the team this evening, the recent trends do not meet health and safety standards laid out by healthcare and government partners to allow fans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome come September 13th.

Fan attendance for the home game against Green Bay on the 27th also appears to be in jeopardy but team officials say they remain ready to host fans when it becomes safe to do so.
