COVID-19: 1,074 new cases, 42 new deaths statewide

The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 1,074 new COVID-19 cases and 42 new deaths.

The statewide total now stands at 62,199 confirmed cases and 1,753 deaths.

Here are the numbers in our area:

• Hancock County is at 344 cases and 14 deaths
• Harrison County is at 2,228 cases and 33 deaths
• Jackson County is at 2,063 cases and 38 deaths
• Stone County is at 159 cases and three deaths
• George County has 549 cases and five deaths
• Pearl River County has 469 cases and 37 deaths
