Drive-up COVID-19 screening and testing sites
Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, Memorial Hospital is bringing more testing sites to the Gulfport-Biloxi area.
In addition to continuing to operate the five designated COVID-19 testing clinics, Memorial will begin offering temporary drive-up COVID-19 screening and testing sites from their mobile units for the next three weeks.
Individuals are asked to stay in their vehicles and wait for assistance and social distancing will be observed.
As of now testing will be available at the following locations:
- Thursday July 23rd at the Biloxi Civic Center on Howard Avenue
- Tuesday July 28th at the Lyman Community Center in Gulfport
- Thursday July 30th at the Woolmarket Civic Center on Old Woolmarket Road
All locations will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Only individuals that meet medical criteria during the screening process will be tested for COVID-19.
For patients that have insurance, Memorial will seek reimbursement; however, no out of pocket expense or co-pay is expected at the time of service. Practice Manager Eddie Maddox said, “If it’s not right at what we did in April, it’s a little bit more. It started early and we saw vehicles at 7:30 or 8 and we get started at 8. So, yes it gets quite busy around here.”
If you do get tested, the results come in between 7 to 10 days and you will receive a call if you are positive or negative.
