Debris removal project begins in Gulfport

Property owners in Gulfport can now place vegetative debris on the side of the road for pick-up.

As of today, the City of Gulfport, along with Utility Partners LLC and Waste Pro, began the city-wide project to collect tree and vegetative debris placed on the back sides of street curbs or sidewalks.

City officials say debris should be placed more than five feet away from fire hydrants, water meters, manholes, drainage boxes, and any other utility structures.

Construction demolition or contractor debris is not included in the project.
