06/16 – Brantly’s “Humid Air Gradually Returning” Tuesday Evening Forecast
The upper level low over the Carolinas will continue to slowly lift northward through Wednesday. This feature will continue to usher dry mid-level air into the northern Gulf coast region. Despite the abundant dry air, there will be enough moisture near the coast with forcing associated with the sea breeze to generate a few isolated showers or thunderstorms this afternoon and again Wednesday afternoon. Any activity will quickly taper off through the evening hours each day with the loss of daytime heating, so kept the forecast dry for overnight hours.
High temps on Wednesday will be in the mid and upper 80s with a few spots reaching 90. Lows tonight will be in the low to mid 60s inland to low 70s along the coast. Hot days with isolated showers and storms possible each afternoon through the end of the work week. Highs on Thursday will top out in the upper 80s to right around 90. By Friday afternoon, widespread temperatures in the low 90s are expected with some inland communities experiencing temperatures in the mid 90s.
Dew points will be slightly higher as we round out the work week, which means it will feel a little muggier (especially across our coastal counties) in the afternoons.
