Arrested for aggravated assault

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department made an arrest following a report of shots fired on Monday in Gulfport.

Sheriff Troy Peterson says 33-year-old Maurice Thomas is now facing a felony charge of aggravated assault.

Deputies responded to the Legacy Hotel on Canal Road after shots were fired at a victim.

The victim stated a man fired several shots at him while walking across the parking lot. The victim was not injured in the shooting.

Thomas is being held on a $100,000 bond.
