Two shot, one arrested in Saturday shooting in George County

George County deputies responded to a call of gunfire late Saturday night in the Benndale Community on Jim Jam Road.

Deputies say two male victims appeared to be shot and are currently being treated at local hospitals.

The George County Sheriff’s Office identified a suspect in the shooting as 20-year-old Jamar Jackson of Lucedale. He later turned himself in and was arrested without incident.

Jackson’s bond was set at $25,000 on each of the two counts of aggravated assault.
