Construction Continues at Gulfport High

Construction is in full swing at Gulfport High School. This is part of their three year renovation project.
Phase one began on June 1st and has included the demolition of three buildings. In about six to eight weeks, they will start putting in the foundation for the fine arts building on Perry Street, the athletic field house and the 11th and 12th grade building.
Principal Michael Lindsey said, “They’ve planned it in the phases so we can still have a normal school day. There will be a change in parking, we are losing the ninth grade parking lot in phase one. So, I think the biggest logistical concern, if there is one, is the parking for students and teachers.”
Lindsey says the renovation will not interrupt the student’s education during the school year.
