Garden Park Medical Center taking precautionary measures for COVID-19

As the threat of the Coronavirus continues to increase across the country, local hospitals are taking precautionary measures in the case the virus makes it way to South Mississippi.

Garden Park Medical Center announced today they’re adopting measures beyond what are performed routinely during flu season to protect the health of patients, visitors, and staff against the COVID-19.

These measures include consolidating entry points and requiring all patients and visitors are screened prior to entry, cancelling and rescheduling some community events and classes, and visitors will now encounter signage to help them navigate through the site.

Officials say when visiting a hospital, you are encouraged to seek medical attention or avoid visiting if you have a fever, have a cough, have traveled outside the U.S. in the past 14 days, or have had direct contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19.
