Adoption Weekend for HSSM

It was an adoption kind of weekend here on the Coast as the Humane Society of South Mississippi teamed up with organizations to find forever homes for dozens of animals.

The Humane Society spent the entire weekend at the PetSmart locations in Gulfport and D’Iberville with adoptable dogs and cats as part of PetSmart Charities ‘National Adoption Weekend.’ Saturday they also partnered with the North Shore Animal League America’s Tour for Life.

People coming into the PetSmart locations were able to interact with the dogs and cats to see if they were the right fit.

Bianca Janik with the Humane Society says adoption drives like this one help them care for more animals on the Coast. “That helps us get them adopted so that we can continue to take care of the animals that are remaining behind. We can focus on those animals that need a little more of a push.”
