U.S Marshals top fugitive Jacob Scott behind bars

The Moss Point man who allegedly faked his death and was on the run for nearly two years for sex crimes is back behind bars in Jackson County.

U.S. Marshals brought Jacob Scott to the jail this afternoon. The 43-year-old was arrested in Oklahoma in late January after being added to the marshals’ top 15 most wanted fugitive list.

Scott pled guilty in July 2018 to more than a dozen counts of child sex abuse crimes.

Sheriff Mike Ezell says Scott allegedly faked his death by leaving a suicide note and a gun on his boat offshore in Orange Beach.
