‘Inkin’ the Coast’ Takes Place this Weekend in Biloxi
For the fifth year in a row, ‘Inkin’ the Coast’ has made its way back to the coliseum.
For the past 13 years, Ocean Springs tattoo artist Mike McMahon has traveled all over the world doing what he does best. “I’ve been able to travel all over the U.S. I stopped in Egypt, a little bit in Europe,” said McMahon.
However, this is his first year at ‘Inkin’ the Coast’, an annual convention held at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. The three day show kicked off today at 2 p.m. Artists come from all over the world to show off their skills, including the famous Tattoo Joey from ‘Tattoo Rehab’ on Spike TV.
Aaron Antonucci, the producer of ‘Inkin’ the Coast’, said, “If they really want to see some amazing art, paintings, sculptures, all different kinds of art, all the way down to real skulls, and they want to get tattooed or just enjoy the culture, they should really come out and check it out, it’s something they’ve never seen before.”
It’s also a way to attract new customers. There are multiple contests to celebrate the art of the body, such as a beard contest, a mustache contest, and even a ‘Miss Vixen Pin-up Girl’ show. “It’s a clean, fun show,” said Antonucchi, “the winner can get cash prize and a photo shoot from Rebel Ink Magazine.”
The event will continue tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and again on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Tickets to ‘Inkin’ the Coast’ are $20 or $45 for a three day pass. A military discount is available.
