Construction underway on walls and windows at D’Iberville City Hall

D’Iberville City Hall is in the process of getting a new makeover.

City officials decided it was time to repair and replace the windows and reseal the walls around the building on the three-story level due to moisture seeping through either damaged windowsills or cracks in the walls.

The focus is currently on the northern side of the building and will continue on to other sides once the windows and walls are able to handle the weather on its own.

The cost of the project is about $822,000. D’Iberville City Manager Bobby Weaver said, “The longer it goes and you get penetration from the water from the weather inside, you get the concern about mold mildew setting in additional damages to sheetrock or maybe furniture, so we just felt like we needed to go ahead and get this project done, get it weather tight, get it recoated and put the building back on almost a brand-new situation.”

The construction is scheduled to be finished in the middle of December.
