Severe weather heading to the Coast

As we head into the weekend, the Coastal Emergency Management Agency offers a word of caution.

Since Monday, the National Weather Service and the Weather Prediction Center continue to give higher probability of a potentially violent weather system moving into the area.

The inclement weather is predicted to arrive on the Coast Saturday morning. According to EMA Director Rupert Lacy, depending on the heating of the day, the storms could blossom into a violent system.

Lacy urges residents to stay informed during the potential severe weather. “I always encourage people have your phone charge, make sure that you can get your weather alerts through the IPO system and that’s where the weather system can directly send out that warning. It should ping your phone. It should make that obnoxious noise to make you aware.”
