No timetable for Drew Brees’ future
Now at the end of another spectacular regular season overshadowed by playoff disappointment, the offseason questions start to pile up.
Of course the most important inquiry of them all: will Drew Brees be a Saint in 2020?
All signs point to yes, but the fact remains that Brees is set to become an unrestricted free agent when his current contract voids on March 18th.
Either way, Brees has a $21.3M cap hit next season which would turn into dead money without a new deal.
A man with nothing left to prove, the league’s all-time leading passer says his future in New Orleans is a conversation for another day. “I’m not making any comments on that, other than I’ve told you guys this over the last couple of years, I’ve always just taken it one year at a time and kind of re-evaluate each off-season and find the things I want to get better at and move on.”
Brees turns 41 on January 15th.
