Canon Hospice hosts memorial for Mohammad Moeini
Canon Hospice in Gulfport hosted a celebration of life for Mohammad Moeini who was killed April 27th, 2022.
Fifty-one-year-old Mohammad Moeini owned the Broadway Inn Express in Biloxi where he and two other residents were shot and tragically killed earlier this year.
In addition to owning Broadway Inn, Moeini owned several real estate properties including Canon Hospice in Gulfport.
He was an Iranian doctor before moving to America, however, his doctoral accreditations did not transfer when he moved here, so he started his life completely over and invested in real estate.
As the property landlord of Canon Hospice, administrators wanted to celebrate Moeini’s life, hanging a memorial plaque over room number one.
Moeini’s wife and son attended the celebration and thanked everyone for their grace and kindness. President and Owner of Canon Hospice Dr. Shiva Akula said, “He really had no choice but to do something else and what a great nation this is that he started from nothing, in terms of real estate and he’s become what he has got and it’s a great opportunity that I have and what I call Canon Hospice is a God Service where he has made it happen for us.”
On April 27th, five people died in what started as a triple homicide at the Broadway Inn Express. It led law enforcement across the Coast, ultimately ending in a standoff and a dead suspect.
Among those killed were 61-year-old Laura Lehman and 55-year-old Chad Green, both employees and residents of the inn.
The fourth victim, who was carjacked, was 52-year-old William Waltman of Diamondhead, a public works contractor with the City of Gulfport.
The shooter on that tragic day was 32-year-old Jeremy Reynolds of Biloxi.
