Sentenced for distributing child pornography

A Gulfport man will serve nearly two decades behind bars for distributing child pornography through ‘Dropbox’ using his cellphone last year.

Thirty-seven year-old Jesse Nichols was sentenced to serve 17-and-a-half years in federal prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release.

The Homeland Security Department was given a tip containing more than 50 videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Upon investigation, the email and username was traced back to Nichols’ cellphone.

When arrested on an indictment, Nichols admitted to accessing various social media platforms and online storage mediums.

Nichols pled guilty to the charges in August.
