Holiday Mail Safety Tips
With deadlines fast approaching for holiday shipping, it is important to stay vigilant when sending and receiving gifts through the mail.
First, make sure if you are expecting a delivery it is a safe bet to be home or have a trusted person look out for the package. Sign up for delivery updates.
Also, if you are shopping online if the deal is too good to be true, it probably is. Make sure you are buying from credible websites and not giving out unnecessary information.
There are also plenty of camera services you can buy to place on your front steps so that you always have an eye at your door. Major Chris De Back with the Biloxi Police Department said, “Any kind of assistance we get through video surveillance is great in helping identify the suspect. Plus you know different camera systems also alert you if someone is around your house or something like that. So, when it is delivered you know it’s there.”
If you want your gifts to arrive by Christmas you need to ship them out by December 14th for retail ground. For cards and packages those can go out by the 20th.
