Twilight Evening in Blue

Advocates for Freedom, a group to help stop human trafficking and help survivors, will be holding a ‘Twilight Evening in Blue’ tonight.

It will be an evening filled with a silent auction, cake tasting, a comedy show, and music. They’re asking everyone to wear blue because they’re blue until trafficking ends.

Guests will get the chance to hear the stories from survivors of trafficking right here on the Coast. It all begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Ocean Springs Civic Center.

Every year, human trafficking rakes in $150 billion nationwide and Advocates for Freedom says this benefit and all the work they do is to remind people this is a real issue right in our own backyard.  Advocates for Freedom CEO Susie Harvill said, “Human trafficking is everyone in our little towns, in our big towns, from the top of the state to the bottom. This is why it is important that we know that it is the public that has brought us 211 people to our attention and we’ve been able to help them.”
