9/13 – Payton’s Wednesday Afternoon Forecast

Temperatures continue to climb this morning into the upper 70s and lower 80s . Winds have started out of the southwest and this means moisture, temperatures and rain chances will be on the increase for South Mississippi, but there is still a few days left of a rain free forecast, so make sure to enjoy the beautiful weather while you can. As we head into the weekend rain chances increase. These should be the usual afternoon showers and thunderstorms we see during the summer.

The tropics are finally somewhat quiet, but we still have Hurricane Jose in the Atlantic, but it’s looking more and more likely that it will continue to weaken and move out into the open Atlantic. This means it will not be an issue for any part of the United States. There are no other areas expected to develop into a tropical system over the next 2-5 days.
