9/7 – Cooler, Drier Mornings Are On The Way
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at the week ahead
Tonight, temperatures will take a dip into the low and mid 60s across much of the area as we expect a breezy northerly wind to bring in much drier dew points.
For your Monday, we’re looking at mostly sunny skies with warm afternoon as highs reach the upper 80s. It will still be a little breezy throughout the day, leading to a Small Craft Advisory across the Mississippi Sound out 20 nautical miles into the Gulf. Winds will subside overnight, but our clear skies will become a bit cloudy overnight leading to low temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s.
The best rain chances arrive Tuesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible, followed by a slight chance again Wednesday.
Otherwise, we are looking mostly clear and dry across South Mississippi for the next week. Highs will hover in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees, while overnight lows stay in the upper 60s to around 70.
