9/23 – Warmer Tonight With an Increasing Chance For Rain Late Wednesday
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your forecast
Mostly clear skies tonight with a low near 74 and calm winds. Wednesday starts off sunny and warm, climbing to about 89 degrees, but late in the afternoon a few scattered showers and thunderstorms may develop as a cold front approaches the area. Rain chances increase Wednesday night, with a better chance of storms developing after midnight.
Thursday will be an unsettled day. Widespread showers and storms are expected at times throughout the day, with some lingering into the evening and overnight. Highs may reach the low to mid 80s, although with the clouds and rain around, temperatures may have trouble warming up past the upper 70s.
By Friday, we’ll see drier air moving in behind the cold front. A few spotty showers or storms may linger early, but most of the day will be partly to mostly sunny with highs rebounding to the mid and upper 80s. Friday night cools to the upper 60s under clear skies.
The weekend is shaping up beautifully. Both Saturday and Sunday will be sunny with highs in the upper 80s and morning lows in the upper 60s. Winds stay light and out of the north before shifting back to the southeast by early next week.
