9/22 – Chris’s “Autumn Begins Tonight” Friday Afternoon Forecast
Currently high pressure is the dominate feature across the southeast. There is currently lots of sunshine across the area this afternoon. A stationary front is well to the south in the Gulf of Mexico and will not affect our forecast. As for the rest of the afternoon expect a similar day to the past couple without the chance of a shower and a thunderstorm. This trend will continue for the first weekend of autumn. Plenty of sunshine Saturday and Sunday with above average temperatures expected. High pressure will hinder the chance of a shower and thunderstorm making outdoor plans perfect this weekend.
Cloud coverage and average temperatures return to the area on Monday. Rain chances elevate for the workweek to 20/30 percent with an approaching front. Not much rain will fall to help with extreme to exceptional drought conditions for south Mississippi just about a half inch at most.
