9/13 – Brittany’s “Lovely” Tuesday Evening Forecast

This evening, temperatures will quickly cool with the loss of daytime heating. As the surface high pressure settles in just to our north, winds will decouple across most of the area. This, along with clear skies and dry air already in place, will allow for excellent radiational cooling to occur. Low temperatures for many locations tomorrow morning will be around 10 degrees below normal. The upper level ridge will strengthen overhead on Wednesday, thus high temperatures will warm back up to normal values.

Thursday through Monday night, high pressure at the surface and aloft will keep the chance for rain out of the picture through the end of the week. The surface high will shift east of the area by the weekend which will permit return flow to bring moisture back into the region. This will introduce some low chances for rain for coastal areas and the associated coastal waters during the weekend. Otherwise, high pressure returns take control of the weather pattern beginning with the start of next week.
