9/11 Remembrance Events across South Mississippi
South Mississippi organizations will be holding remembrance ceremonies Friday and Saturday to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Our local military installations, Keesler Air Force Base and the Naval Construction Battalion Center, will hold ceremonies Friday morning to mark the anniversary with service-members and staff at both bases.
The Seabee Base ceremonies will also feature a stair climb, while Keesler events will include a remembrance march.
These events are closed to the general public and limited to base personnel only.
On Saturday, the Carry the Load organization will hold a 9/11 Day of Service at 10 a.m. at the Biloxi National Cemetery where volunteers will clean and restore headstones and do grounds work.
Starting at 3 p.m. Saturday, the Tunnel to Towers events begin in Biloxi with the 5K run, followed by the annual stair climb at Margaritaville.
