8U Junior Seawolves Wrap Up Season in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. (WXXV) — The 8U Junior Seawolves wrapped up their season this weekend in Lafayette with a tough but exciting series against the Drillers.

The Seawolves opened Saturday with a doubleheader, dropping the first two games in close contests. The Drillers took game one by a score of 1-0 and followed it up with a 3-2 win in game two.

The highlight of the weekend for the Junior Seawolves came in game three.

Brody Morreal led the team’s offense, scoring two goals to keep the game even. The match ended in a 2-2 tie, forcing a dramatic shootout to decide the winner.

That’s when the littlest Seawolves stepped up in a big way.

Brooks Mayher delivered the game-winning goal in the shootout, while goalie Fenway Aldrich came up huge in the net — blocking all three attempts for the Drillers.

The clutch performance sealed the shootout victory for the Seawolves and gave the team a strong finish to their season in Lafayette.
