88th annual Knost Regatta returns to Pass Christian Yacht Club
PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. (WXXV)- The Mississippi Sound will be full of competition and tradition this weekend.
The Pass Christian Yacht Club is getting ready to host one of the most prestigious all-women sailing events on the Gulf Coast.
The 88th annual Knost Regatta sets sail this weekend at PCYC. Twelve yacht clubs from across the Gulf Coast spanning from Louisiana to Florida are sending their best female sailors to compete.
The regatta is part of the Gulf Yachting Association and is strictly for women, making it a spotlight for female athletes in the sport.
With a competitive fleet expected on the line, sailors say they are ready to bring their best.
Racing gets underway Saturday at 1 p.m. and continues through Sunday.
Spectators are welcome along the Coast to catch the action and cheer on the region’s top women sailors competing for the Knost Trophy.
