88th Annual Blessing of the Fleet Poster Unveiling

The Blessing of the Fleet is a Biloxi tradition dating back to 1929. Today, the city unveiled its poster for the 88th annual ceremony.
This year’s king, Frank Parker, and the eight Shrimp Queen maids were introduced. Biloxi Mayor Andrew ‘FoFo’ Gilich and Harrison County Supervisor Beverly Martin took home a Blessing of the Fleet poster to hang in the city and county halls.
On June 4th, Greg Barras, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church, will toss Holy Water and pray for passing boats that they have a safe and successful shrimping season.
The Fais Do-Do will be Saturday, June 3rd and the Blessing of the Fleet is on June 4th.
