8/8 – Chris’s “Election Day” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

Another afternoon  of oppressive heat is in store for our area. We will experience another day of high temperatures in the upper 90s. This means that there is an EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING from until 7PM today for heat indices from 110-116. There is a cold front north of the area, however it is not expected to aid in cooling us off.  An impulse will travel to the north of our area causing a line of showers and thunderstorms to form this should stay to the north however we can not rule out a chance of a shower or thunderstorm at 20%. There is EXCESSIVE HEAT WATCH FROM 11AM – 7PM Wednesday for heat indices from 110-116.  As for Thursday and Friday temperatures are still going to be in upper 90s with little to no rain chances.

As for the weekend temperatures will drop back to just above  normal values as the typical summertime pattern returns to our area. This means we will see elevated thunderstorm chances for Saturday and Sunday as the sea-breeze kicks back up again. This trend will continue into the start of the new work week.
