8/7 – Trey Tonnessen’s “In The Sand” Wednesday Night Forecast

Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen

Tropical Storm Debby is not moving very quickly, although it should get far enough northward tomorrow and tomorrow night, over central North Carolina tomorrow night to begin feeling the influence of the westerlies. That is not likely to be soon enough to influence forecast high temperatures tomorrow, as forecast soundings indicate little change in boundary and temperatures from today. Precipitable water values will be in the 1.5-1.8 range, and dew points are forecast to be several degrees higher. This should be sufficient to produce heat index values meeting the 108F criteria for most of the area.
