8/4 – Sam Lucey’s “Quiet but Unsettled” Monday Evening Forecast

Tonight, we’re watching for another round of showers and storms after 9 p.m., with about a 50% chance of rain. Skies will stay mostly cloudy early before gradually clearing toward morning. Temperatures dip to the low 70s, and winds will be light and calm overnight.

By Tuesday, the heat builds back in with highs near 89 under partly sunny skies. Thunderstorms are likely again in the afternoon, especially after 1 p.m., and while not everyone will see rain, a few heavier downpours are possible. The chance of rain tapers off a bit Tuesday night, but a few spotty storms may linger through the evening.

Looking ahead to midweek, the pattern doesn’t shift much. Expect mostly sunny skies Wednesday through Saturday, but each afternoon brings a decent chance of scattered thunderstorms, peaking between 50 and 60% through Friday. Highs will stay close to average in the upper 80s to low 90s with pretty muggy dew points.

Evenings should offer some relief with partly to mostly clear skies and lows in the mid-70s, although a lingering shower or two can’t be ruled out before midnight most nights.
