8/19 – Sam Lucey’s “Quiet and Comfortable” Tuesday Evening Forecast

Tonight will be mostly clear and quiet, with temperatures settling in the mid 70s and light southerly winds becoming calm.

By Wednesday, the heat ramps up once again with highs in the mid 90s, but with the humidity, it’ll feel closer to 105. We have a heat advisory in effect from 10 am to 7 pm.

A few pop-up storms are possible in the mid to late-afternoon, but the amount of rain will stay fairly low. Wednesday night clears back out with temperatures dropping into the mid 70s.

Thursday brings more of the same—sunshine mixed with clouds, highs in the lower 90s, and about a 50 percent chance of afternoon storms as a front approaches from the north. Thursday night cools into the mid 70s with a few lingering showers.

Friday and Saturday both feature a good chance of storms during the afternoon and evening hours as we will likely see a weak low develop along the stalled front, with highs right around 90.

By Sunday and Monday, the pattern continues—partly to mostly sunny skies with scattered showers and storms. Highs stay near 90 to the low 90s, and lows settle in the low 70s each night.
