7th annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon takes place this weekend

The 7th annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon runs this weekend with races Saturday and Sunday.

The long races offer a unique opportunity to run on Beach Boulevard, starting in Pass Christian and ending at MGM Park in Biloxi. The course is scenic, flat, and fast.

There’s a post-race party featuring local seafood, BBQ, beer, and great music.

This year, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon has a new course for the Margaritaville 5K. It will feature a point-to-point course starting in Ocean Springs and finishing at Margaritaville Resort in Biloxi.

The Chevron Gulf Coast Kids Marathon starts at 9:30 a.m. and the Margaritaville 5K starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday. The full marathon and half marathon kick-off Sunday at 7 a.m.

Partnership Director Craig Sweeney said, “I’m excited to be able to have something that’s healthy, that allows people to be active and post-COVID when mental health is a concern, this is a great way to, as I say, run for the neck up. We can just play a small part in that by having an event here. That’s exciting for us.”

If you would still like to participate in the race, you can still register online at mississippigulfcoastmarathon.com or register at the event.
